Cévennes Borne 30.12.03 - 14

This is the entry drop of the gorge.

It's a very short gorge, but 'hundreds ' of meters deep, steep drops, no way to scout once you're in it and no way to portage. Only to be attempted at the wright low water level.

Here Bruno wanted to onto the rock and fall right, instead he went left, into a narrow cut between the rocks and broke his paddle... rolled up into the gorge.

Because we were only about to paddle 1 km that day we didn't had a spare paddle, mistake... No going down without paddle possible, falls, rocks on both sides, no path up either. After a talk, we decided he was to try to go up to the car and get the spare paddle. So he swam, climbed, swam, walked upstream and succeeded to get back after an hour. Oufty lucky us, this was a very stressy moment.
