World Freestyle Kayak Championships

Transport paddler and boat.

We 're still looking into this, so if any of you guys can helps us out. In fact we just take our car and drive there, but for those who are coming by plane I would like to put something on here. Perhaps someone who was there last year can help?

This is what we 've got so far (Ariaz and me). Best double and triple check this info yourself, we are not a travel agency.

1. Minibus - Van
Rent a van (6-8 places) at the Airport in Barcelona for the week. It's not the cheapest, but the easiest way. And you 've got transport the hole week and can paddle other parts of the river.

Drive through the N-II to Balaguer (N-II means a National motorway-non pay) and from there to Sort.
You can also drive through the must-pay-motorway to Lleida and from there to Sort (but it's a longer way).

2. Bus

The cheapest way is to go by bus, Barcelona-Sort (timetable and fees). To take the bus you first have to get from the airport to the center of the city. Apparently many paddlers took the bus last year, taking your kayak was no problem.

3. Train

You can also take a train, station also in the center of the city. It's the train to Pobla de Segur ... that would be a train from Barcelona to Lleida and another one from Lleida to Pobla de Segur (but not too many connection trains per day). And from Pobla de Segur take a Taxi up to Sort.

4. Taxi (by people from Omei and Ariaz)

This way how some Americans came past year.
It's a guy that dirves from Barcelona to Sort like a 'taxi' (so to say). The car has roof racks (for the kayaks)

It's told there's more people acting as 'taxi-drivers' from Barcelona to Sort but we don't have the contact. Maybe Alfonso knows more 'taxi-drivers' ...
